This is a deep tissue treatment which uses a number of different techniques to manipulate the soft tissue and muscle fibres. These techniques help to warm up the muscles, increase blood flow, reduce muscle tension, tightness, and sticky adhesions "knots" by realigning the muscle fibres. This also helps to increase joint range of movement and aid in muscular recovery and adaptation.

A hot stones massage, takes the properties of gentle, calming warmth, and combines this with all of the benefits of massage to create the ultimate relaxation for body and mind promoting a great sense of well-being.
Hot and cold stone massage is a versatile therapy, useful for anyone looking for really deep relaxation or relief from tension and pain.
Not just for relaxation, hot and cold stone therapy can also be extremely useful in easing chronic tension. The heat from the basalt stones sinks deeply into the muscles encouraging them to really let go, easing tension and calming pain. Working in combination with the cold marble stones (cryotherapy), the cold stones can help contract muscles, increase circulation, help to alleviate pain and bloating, by cooling down the muscles and skin, cold stone massage therapy feels soothing, calming, refreshing, and rejuvenating throughout the body, which can also reduce stress, relieve tension, and boost energy levels. Although the cold stones can be used at any point throughout the massage I use the hot/cold combination mostly during the face massage element of the treatment. The treatment can be tailored to each individual so for example if you prefer to just have either all hot or all cold stones just let me know. We can discuss any requests prior to your appointment.
